The Town of Dewey Plan Commission, with assistance from the Portage County Planning and Zoning Department, has finished reviewing and updating the Town of Dewey Comprehensive Plan in order to meet the Statutory requirement that comprehensive plans be updated no less than once every 10 years (Section 66.1001(2)(i) of Wisconsin Statutes). The Plan Commission also reviewed and updated the Town Zoning map to ensure compatibility between zoning and future land use designations. Below is a link to the proposed updates.

The Town will now hold several Open House Listening Sessions at which property owners can come in to review the work that has been done. These Listening Sessions will be held at the Dewey Town Hall, located at 430 Dewey Drive, on the following dates and times:
Monday, August 9, 2021 - 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Monday, August 9, 2021 - 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday, August 10, 2021 - 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The Town Board will then hold a formal Public Hearing on September 15, 2021 at 6:30 p.m at the Dewey Town Hall to hear and consider the proposed Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Map Amendments. A copy of the amendments are available for viewing prior to the Public Hearing at the Dewey Town Hall, 430 Dewey Drive (by appointment by contacting Town Clerk, Angela Lochinger at 715-254-5584) and the Portage County Planning and Zoning Department office located at the County Annex, 1462 Strongs Avenue, Stevens Point, as well as being posted for viewing on the Town of Dewey website (www.townofdeweywi.com) and the Portage County website (www.co.portage.wi.us).
